Executive Director, Cherrystone Angel Group

Prior to joining Cherrystone, Bert was Executive Vice President at Teknor Apex, a privately held global company in the chemical and plastics businesses.

Bert has degrees in Chemical Engineering and business administration, he  has been a director of both private companies and community organizations.

ROBERT MANNING

Chairman, Cherrystone Angel Group

Rob is President of Grays Point Investments LLC, a family office focused on private equity and real estate investments.  Serves on multiple boards of early and mid-stage companies. 

Formerly Rob was a Managing Director and Division Executive in Citigroup’s Corporate and Structured Finance businesses.  Broad international experience over 26 years in EMEA, US, and Asia.

BRADFORD GIBBS

Membership Chair

Lecturer, Department of Economics, Brown University

Brad spent nearly fourteen years at Morgan Stanley where he executed transactions across industries ranging from telecommunications to steel.  Brad has served in various executive management roles both domestically and internationally.

Brad currently teaches Corporate Finance and other applied finance classes at Brown University and serves on the several community organization boards.  In addition to his MAT, Brad holds a BA from Brown (History) and an MBA (Finance) from Wharton.

Barbara Braun Schoenfeld

Managing Director, Saffron LLC

Corporate Attorney, Business Advisor

Barbara is a corporate attorney and advisor with 35 years’ experience. Corporate counsel to business in pharma, corporate branding and consumer sector. Previous experience includes Chief Operating Officer of Brown Brothers Harriman’s Alternative Investments, Deputy Treasurer/General Counsel of State of Rhode Island Treasury (oversaw investment of public pension funds). Philanthropic and nonprofit board leader. Barbara also serves on the board of Florence Health, one of Cherrystone’s portfolio companies.

Steve Thomas

Head of Trading and Operations Strategies at BlueMountain Capital Management

Steve is a technologist with broad experience in portfolio and risk management, trade execution, mid-office operations, and compliance. He currently leads the operations and trading strategies teams at BlueMountain Capital Management.

Stephen Schweich

Investment Banker, Private Investor

Stephen is a Technology-focused investment banker with 30 years experience in USA and Europe. Previously founder of Mooreland Partners (acquired by Stifel), President of Robertson Stephens International (London), Managing Director of Alex Brown & Sons (equity research, Baltimore).  Active investor in venture capital and hedge funds, private companies, publicly traded securities, and real estate partnerships.

Bob Miniutti

Steering Committee Member

Board Director/Entrepreneur/Angel Investor 

Bob is a Board Director/Entrepreneur/Angel Investor and has launched 12 companies over last 30 years including Oracle Lens (sold to Carl Zeiss). Focused on private equity investments and outside board director opportunities.  Investment and director skills are augmented by a chemical engineering background (Rensselaer) with engineering and management positions at Milliken (textile manufacturing) and Gentex (military textiles and optical devices).

Jeremy S. Weinstein

Jerry is Chairman and CEO of Armstrong Global Investments, LLC, a small private investment company focused mainly on early stage companies. Jerry had a 35 year career with Whirlpool Corporation, where he had extensive executive experience running large global businesses and operations. He has PhD and Bachelor’s degrees in engineering. Jerry has been an adjunct faculty member at Bryant University’s College of Business.

Jerry serves as a Director on the boards of two Cherrystone portfolio companies, KnipBio, Inc. and Concentric, Inc.

Aidan Petrie

Aidan is a founding Partner of NEMIC (New England Medical Innovation Center) and a Fellow of the Provost at RISD, focused on intersections between user centered design and healthcare.  He was the founding partner of Ximedica, one of the worlds leading medical device developers. Ximedica integrates regulated devices with connected systems to provide the next generation of healthcare solutions. Aidan remains the Chief Innovation Officer Emeritus. 

Aidan's passion for innovation and design has helped bring hundreds of products to market that range from simple drug compliance aids to wearable therapeutics, home monitoring products and complex surgical systems.

Sondra Pierson

Administrative Assistant / Bookkeeper

Sondra does bookkeeping and administrative duties for a number of organizations including Cherrystone Angel Group. Prior to Cherrystone, Sondra was a financial manager at KPMG in Boston.

Sondra has lived in several countries, including Spain and England and earned her BA at the University of Houston. Outside of her professional life Sondra is involved in animal rescue and is a foster for Save a Lab Foundation.
